NCS NewsNCS News April 2008

That was Easter then...

Well, we hope you enjoyed the earliest Easter you are likely to experience in your lifetime (unless you were around in 1818). We have a number of items for you to explore over at the NCS News blog. You may want to boost your learning ability with the aid of your iPod. We report some research on the use of iPods for sleep learning and a new application that you can install which will enable you as a sleep learner. Scotland’s history is celebrated in a recreation of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath. We also look into a worrying decline in the number of UK adult learners. The topics continue to grow as you read this.

If you want your reading more in-depth, the new NCS magazine Cloisters is still available. The current issue will lead you through Egypt and Ethiopia with the Desert Archaeologist, introduce you to life writing, and take a reality check with a life-long learner and teacher. Along with reviews and some fun stuff, there is plenty to keep you occupied and we hope to lead you into further researches of your own. Also, remember that we are looking for items, articles and reviews for Cloisters, so contact me if you are interested in contributing.
