Happy
Hallowe’en from NCS Online College
Well it looks like most of us survived the
asteroid impact at the start of the month, and now technology is in revolt
with news of a
man-eating toilet and virus carrying TV remotes. However only
time will reveal the extent of the current economic damage that is affecting
all of our lives. However, education is still a valuable resource whatever
the climate and, this month, we are happy to report new courses coming
on line at the NCS Online College.
You can read more about these on our NCS
News site. The courses are “Your
Story - Writing A Life” and “The
Wonderful World Of Psychology.” Tutors Joanna Howard
and Zaynab D’Elia broaden the horizons of NCS students still
further with opportunities to learn about writing memoirs or, perhaps,
to start into a career in Psychology.
A useful tool for prospective students on
Joanna’s course and others is highlighted in Clearer
English For All. This is about the Plain English Campaign’s
online Drivel Defence software. It’s a free resource for writers
and students to help remove the excesses from our prose and keep it clear.
In these uncertain times, it is probably a good idea to keep an eye on options for career changes. Education is a good way to open new directions when the old ones run into trouble. Let’s hope the NCS can help at least a few of the people who are facing difficult decisions in the months ahead.
